Echo Point

Echo point is located in Katoomba, Sydney. If your a tourist it's definitely a must see while you're in Sydney. The mountain
air up here is cold so make sure to dress nice and warm.
Breathtaking views and the freshest air are what you can expect
coming to the mountains. If your feeling adventurous there is a scenic cableway with amazing views of the trees down below. If your
into fitness, the Giant Staircase might be for you. A 900 step
journey, of STEEP steps might I add. I highly recommend coming to the Blue Mountains at least once in your life. I promise you won't regret it.

The Grumpy Barista

The grumpy barista is a quaint little cafe in Petersham. Famous for their cronuts (mix between a croissant and a donut) it has been on my foodie list for quite some time now. I have to say the coffee was a little disappointing. I ordered a latte and it was quite watery, and lacked that beautiful creamy coffee consistency that I love about my morning coffee.
I ordered the Italian Hot Pot ($13) which was a beautiful take on baked eggs. The tomato based sauce was thick and tasty, perfect for dunking the sourdough bread into. As I dip my bread into the eggs, the yolk breaks and the perfectly cooked eggs ooze everywhere.
My friend ordered the Sweet Fig and Ricotta toast with honey, lime zest, rose and cinnamon. I had to steal a bite. I always worry about cinnamon when I see it on a dish because i'm not a fan but it's completely not overpowering at all. This dish is lovely and tasty, while not being too sweet. I would say this is more of a savoury dish (although the name states otherwise) but still great nonetheless.
Last but most definitely not least, the grand finale - CRONUTS.
What I had been looking forward to the whole week. We didn't have enough time to eat in so we got take away. There were only 5 left so if you want these bad boys you have to get in early because they sell out super quick! Before 11am is recommended and possibly earlier on the weekends. I had the honey, rose and pistachio cronut filled with custard (they all have the same custard filling). The custard inside this beautiful creation is not your traditional egg custard. It has a slightly sweeter taste, but still divine. The outside was crunchy, flaky and melted in my mouth as I ate (demolished) it. It was definitely a beautiful eating experience. For only $5 you can't go wrong. A must try for all Sydney-Siders.
